The SS-2002 "S" box is a portable version, equipped with a carrying handle and dual "loop-through" intercom connectors. The "P" box is a stationary version, also equipped with dual "loop-through" connectors, but the case is designed for desktop or console-mount applications. The SS-2002 "U" box is designed for permanent, in-wall mounting.

It uses push type wire terminals for connection to the intercom system. The "RM" version is suitable for desktop use or can be rackmounted using an optional rackmount ear kit, and the "loop-through" connectors for this unit are of a 6-pin XLR type.
