It can also be used to combine two balanced XLR inputs into a single XLR output or to simply isolate a balanced line for buzz or hum elimination. There is also a ground-lift switch for additional noise elimination.
Note that when combining two condenser microphones phantom power voltage is passed to only one of the microphones due to the internal isolation transformer.
