The rugged, all-steel chassis includes protective bumpers, making it perfect for throwing directly onto stage wherever inputs are needed. Operating via a single shielded CAT5e cable up to 100 metres in length, the SD16 offers remarkable flexibility for complex setups. Multiple units can be cascaded using the dual AES50 ports - place one at stage front and another behind the drum riser for comprehensive coverage of drums, guitars, and bass amps.

When integrated into a complete X32 system, up to three SD16 units provide 48 bidirectional inputs and 24 balanced XLR outputs, whilst the onboard Ultranet hub powers and distributes 16 audio channels to four P16-M personal monitor mixers per unit. The SD16 incorporates MIDAS' legendary mic preamp designs, continuing the company's award-winning heritage that has made their consoles industry standards since the 1970s. Two programmable inputs accommodate Hi-Z sources like keyboards and acoustic guitars without requiring DI boxes, and the USB port enables quick system updates via PC.
